Fortuna Düsseldorf enterprising winger Nana Ampomah is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the club revealed he has torn a muscle (an abductor injury) in his left thigh.
Thus, the Ghana international will miss the Fligeraners' league opener against Werder Bremen on Saturday, 17 August, 2019.
It ended up being a bittersweet competitive debut for the Ghana international on Saturday when he scored in their come-from-behind 3-1 win at lower league side Villingen in the German Cup.
The summer signing found the back of the net in the 52nd to level for the Bundesliga outfit, but after an hour he had to be substituted.
After a sprint, Ampomah grabbed thigh and signaled the bench for his replacement in what looked like a muscle tear.
A club statement read: ''Nana Ampomah has torn muscle in the abductor area and will be out of action until further notice. Get well soon, Nana.''
