Newcastle United are actively looking to offload Ghana midfielder Christian Atsu before Friday's transfer deadline, the Chronicle have claimed.
The future of the 28-year-old remains in limbo as the English side are hoping to sell the Ghanaian international before the winter transfer window is shut.
Steve Bruce is keen to let the left-sided flyer who has made 22 appearances for the side this season leave.
Loaned to Newcastle from Chelsea in the Championship, Atsu played a crucial part in Rafa Benitez’s promotion-winning side. He scored five goals and created eight more despite starting just 15 of his 32 Championship appearances.
Since then, he has scored three goals since Newcastle returned to the Premier League. Unfortunately for the ex-Everton and Bournemouth loanee, he simply is not good enough for the top tier and a move to the Championship is best.
West Brom are reportedly interested in his services with Newcastle reported to have offered him to several Premier League sides.
