Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is set to miss Atletico Madrid's crucial game against Sevilla in La Liga through suspension after receiving his 10th yellow card of the season against Espanyol on Sunday.
Partey was in action for Los Rojiblancos as they were held to a 1-1 draw at the RCDE Stadium.
The 26-year-old had first accumulated a fifth yellow card in a 3-1 win over the same opponents in November, which led him to miss the away match at Granada which ended in a 1-1 stalemate
He was booked in the 42nd minute against Espanyol and will now miss Atleti's next match at home to Sevilla.
Espanyol took the lead through an own goal by Stefan Savic but Saul Niguez leveled for the visitors on the stroke of halftime.
Both sides went in search of the match winner but failed to convert their chances as they shared the spoils.
The result sees Atletico Madrid drop to 4th on the league table after Sevilla defeated Osasuna at home.
