‘Electoral crimes have no expiry date’, offenders to be held accountable – Fifi Kwetey warns

Franklin Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has provided indication of what lies ahead for individuals indulging in electoral offenses.

He claims that when the NDC administration assumes power in 2025, anyone who disobeyed the engagement guidelines that governed the recent elections will be held accountable.

Fifi Kwetey promised justice when power shifts on January 07, 2025, and issued a severe warning to anybody involved in electoral malpractices in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

"Electoral offenses never go away. In reference to the party's determination to correct suspected irregularities, he added, "The time of reckoning will come after January 7."

The comments coincide with the Electoral Commission's regional headquarters in Accra conducting a recollection of results for nine contested constituencies.

Although several of them were initially proclaimed for the NDC, the results for seven of these constituencies have been finalized thus far, and all have been announced in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, Ahafo Ano South West, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, and Tema Central are among the constituencies.
