In the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region, residents of Gomoa Mfantse-Moa were shocked when Kwame Ofosu, a 21-year-old Okada rider, was brutally decapitated by an unidentified attacker.

According to reports, the victim was recruited by the attacker to drive them to a nearby village. But the attacker allegedly killed the rider, removed his head, and ran away when they arrived at a remote area of the road.

After the horrifying event, irate young people from the neighbourhood assaulted the newly opened Gomoa Obuasi Police Station and damaged the structure, a police cruiser, and officers' personal vehicles.

According to reports, false information that several individuals had been taken into custody by the police served as gasoline for the attack. Ibrahim Obeng, the Gomoa Afranse-Ofaso Electoral Area Assemblyman, acknowledged the horrific event and disclosed that the criminals had taken the victim's head in an interview with Adom News.

Before providing their services, he advised Okada riders to be cautious and run background checks on passengers.

In order to help catch the criminals, police are looking into the matter and have asked the public to remain calm while reporting any suspicious activity.
