The GNFS, or Ghana National Fire Service, has stated that it is ready for the holiday season.

It stated its readiness to handle any emergency situations while warning the public to take fire safety precautions over the holiday season.

About 50% of the GNFS's fire engines were damaged, but more than 85% of them have now been fixed, according to Mr. Desmond Ackah, Head of Public Relations.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5, Mr. Ackah said that Ghanaians may get at outbreak situations in as little as five minutes if they phone their emergency lines.

Although it was recently discovered that 50% of our fire engines were damaged, we have rebuilt roughly 85% of them thanks to management's efforts. Despite the fact that the engines have been in service for many years, we have repaired them as necessary and equipped our staff to handle any emergency.

We shall send our staff to any location where there is an emergency if Ghanaians promptly phone the emergency numbers. He promised that if the public doesn't make jokes or play tricks on us, we will get anywhere in time to help the public within five minutes, depending on the location of the incident and the closest fire station.

In order to receive ideas to prevent outbreaks and other issues, he recommended event organizers to engage with the GNFS.

Additionally, he disclosed that more than 6,000 fire volunteers have received training to help those who wish to participate in bush burning.

In order to start domestic fire education in our homes and marketplaces, he continued, they have also launched their task force.

Additionally, we have discussed the best ways to stop epidemics in our marketplaces with market managers. This is especially important now that the holiday and harmattan seasons are upon us.
