President-elect John Dramani Mahama has been urged by Nana Akosua Duaa Asor Sika Brayie II, the Paramount Queenmother of the Sunyani Traditional Area, to put more women in positions of leadership.

She said women are passionate for development and appointing many of them would benefit the nation.

When Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, the national chairman of the NDC, paid a courtesy visit to the Sunyani Traditional Council in Sunyani to thank the chiefs and queens for the NDC's election triumph in the 2024 General Elections, Nana Brayie II made the call.

The Paramount Queenmother asked the NDC's incoming government to avoid arrogance and urged Mr. Mahama to continue serving the people with integrity and humility.

Mr. Nketiah stated that although the NDC had expected the party to win the election by a landslide, the electoral triumph exceeded their expectations and that they were nevertheless thankful to the chiefs and queens for their support.

He promised that the NDC will keep its electioneering pledges to the people and claimed that the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions' 27 parliamentary seats out of 29 constituencies demonstrated how much the people of Ghana wanted a change in government.

The Sunyani Traditional Council's Acting President and Akwamuhene (sub chief), Nana Kwaku Sabeng, praised the previous NDC government for the development project they carried out in the Sunyani Municipality.

He expressed his expectation that the new administration of Mr. Mahama would likewise put forth a lot of effort to please the voters who elected the NDC to lead the country once more.
