Catholic Bishops Praise Dampare and NESTF for Ensuring Peaceful Elections in Ghana

The Catholic Bishops Conference has commended the National Elections Security Task Force (NESTF) and its leader, Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare, for their exceptional role in maintaining peace and security during Ghana's 2024 General Elections. The Conference praised the Task Force's professionalism and dedication to ensuring a secure environment for citizens to cast their votes.

The Bishops acknowledged that despite some isolated incidents of vandalism and violence, the overall peaceful atmosphere during the elections was a testament to the NESTF's hard work. They also appreciated the collaborative approach of the Task Force, working closely with the Electoral Commission, political parties, civil society groups, and the public to promote peace and stability.

By commending the NESTF and Dampare, the Catholic Bishops Conference is emphasizing the importance of peaceful elections in Ghana's democratic process. As the Conference noted, peace is essential for the country's development, and it's crucial that all stakeholders work together to promote a culture of peace and tolerance .
