The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has recently announced the re-collated results for seven disputed constituencies, with all of them favoring the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This development has significant implications for the country's electoral process and the ongoing political landscape.

The seven constituencies in question include Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, Ahafo Ano South West, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, and Tema Central. In each of these constituencies, the NPP candidate emerged victorious, with some winning by narrow margins.

For instance, in Ahafo Ano North, Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh of the NPP secured 20,353 votes, beating his NDC rival, Kwasi Adusei, who received 20,232 votes. Similarly, in Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah of the NPP won with 46,663 votes, defeating Christopher Beyere Baasongti of the NDC, who garnered 43,429 votes.

The re-collated results also showed that Elvis Osei Dapaah of the NPP won in Ahafo Ano South West with 16,680 votes, narrowly beating Sedik Abubakar of the NDC, who received 16,540 votes. In Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh of the NPP secured 29,640 votes, edging out Amenorpe Philbert Fummey of the NDC, who garnered 29,433 votes.

The results for Obuasi East and Okaikwei Central were also significant, with Patrick Boakye-Yiadom of the NPP retaining his seat in Obuasi East with 18,558 votes, beating Samuel Aboagye of the NDC, who secured 18,539 votes. In Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah of the NPP won with 21,099 votes, overturning an earlier declaration in favor of Baba Sadiq of the NDC, who garnered 19,368 votes.

In Tema Central, Charles Forson of the NPP was declared the winner with 18,870 votes, beating Ebi Bright of the NDC, who received 18,815 votes. The NDC has rejected the re-collated results, accusing the EC of acting unlawfully.

The re-collated results were announced after the EC had earlier nullified the parliamentary results for Dome Kwabenya, Okaikwei Central, and Ablekuma North, citing procedural breaches and threats to its staff during the collation process. The results for two constituencies, Ablekuma North and Dome Kwabenya, are still pending.

The development has sparked heated debates and reactions from various stakeholders, with some hailing the EC's decision as a victory for democracy, while others have expressed concerns about the legitimacy of the process. The NDC has vowed to challenge the results, citing irregularities and malpractices during the re-collation process.

As the country awaits the outcome of the pending constituencies, the re-collated results have significant implications for Ghana's electoral process and the ongoing political landscape. The development has also highlighted the need for transparency, accountability, and fairness in the electoral process to ensure the integrity of Ghana's democracy.
