South Dayi MP Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor Issues Stern Warning to NPP: "We'll Show You Where Power Lies When We Take Over"

South Dayi Member of Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over their alleged manipulation of the Electoral Commission's (EC) declaration of parliamentary seats.

Speaking to TV3, Dafeamekpor expressed his outrage over the EC's declaration of seven parliamentary seats in favor of the NPP, following a court-ordered recollation of results. He accused the NPP of employing dubious tactics to secure electoral victories.

Dafeamekpor specifically targeted Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, criticizing his press conference celebrating the NPP's victories. He accused Afenyo-Markin of hypocrisy and fabricating stories to spice up his press conferences.

The South Dayi MP warned that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not take the NPP's alleged manipulation lying down. He vowed that the NDC would take action when they assume power.

Dafeamekpor's remarks were in reaction to Afenyo-Markin's call for the NDC to accept the EC's declaration in good faith. However, Dafeamekpor insisted that the NPP's victories were tainted by manipulation and that the NDC would not recognize them.

The EC's declaration of the seven parliamentary seats has been a subject of controversy, with the NDC accusing the NPP of manipulating the results. The NDC has vowed to challenge the results in court.

Dafeamekpor's warning to the NPP has been seen as a sign of the intense political rivalry between the two parties. The NDC has been critical of the NPP's handling of the economy and other issues, and the parliamentary seat controversy has further heightened tensions.

As the political landscape in Ghana continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how the controversy over the parliamentary seats will play out. One thing is certain, however: the rivalry between the NPP and the NDC will continue to shape the country's politics in the days ahead.
