The electoral landscape in Ghana has taken an interesting turn with the re-collation of parliamentary results. Two high-profile candidates, Ebi Bright and Baba Sadiq, have lost their bids for parliamentary seats after the Electoral Commission (EC) re-collated results in nine disputed constituencies.

Ebi Bright, a popular actress and National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, was initially declared the winner of the Tema Central seat. However, after the re-collation of results, she lost to Charles Forson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who secured 18,870 votes.

Bright's loss was a narrow one, with Forson winning by just 55 votes. The actress secured 18,815 votes, a respectable showing in a highly contested election. Despite her loss, Bright's candidacy helped to galvanize support for the NDC in the Tema Central constituency.

Baba Sadiq, another high-profile candidate, also lost his bid for a parliamentary seat after the re-collation of results. Sadiq, who was running on the NDC ticket, initially seemed to have won the Okaikwei Central seat. However, after the re-collation, he lost to incumbent MP Patrick Yaw Boamah, who secured 21,099 votes.

Sadiq's loss was a significant one, with Boamah winning by a margin of over 1,700 votes. Despite his loss, Sadiq's candidacy helped to raise awareness about key issues affecting the Okaikwei Central constituency.

The re-collation of results was conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) following a court directive to review results in nine disputed constituencies. The exercise was aimed at ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the electoral process.

The EC's decision to re-collate results in the disputed constituencies has been widely welcomed as a step towards promoting transparency and accountability in the electoral process. The commission's actions have helped to boost confidence in the electoral system and ensure that the will of the people is respected.

Despite the losses suffered by Ebi Bright and Baba Sadiq, the NDC has expressed its commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and promoting the rule of law. The party has urged its supporters to remain calm and peaceful, even in the face of adversity.

As the dust settles on the parliamentary elections, it is clear that the re-collation of results has had a significant impact on the electoral landscape. While some candidates have lost their bids for parliamentary seats, others have emerged victorious. Ultimately, the outcome of the elections will shape the future of Ghana's democracy and determine the direction of the country's development.
