Asamankese, Ghana – On October 26, 2024, Me Boafo Foundation, in collaboration with Asamankese Government Hospital and an alliance of Rotary clubs, organized a pivotal Breast Cancer Awareness and Health Screening event. This impactful initiative, hosted at the Asamankese Government Hospital, saw over 200 community members come together to gain knowledge, undergo screenings, and access essential health services focused on early detection and prevention.
The program aimed to elevate breast cancer awareness, stressing the importance of regular screening and early diagnosis. Medical professionals from Asamankese Government Hospital provided comprehensive examinations, answered questions, and educated attendees on breast health and preventive care. Timed with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event underscored Me Boafo Foundation’s commitment to promoting health and well-being within underserved communities.
This event was made possible by an alliance of dedicated partners, including the Rotary Club of Accra Kanda, Rotary Club of Weija West, Rotary Club of Accra Trinity, Rotary Club of Achimota, Rotaract Club of Weija, Rotaract Club of Adabraka, Rotaract Club of Somanya - UESD, Me Boafo Foundation, and Asamankese Government Hospital. Together, these organizations embodied a shared mission of supporting accessible healthcare and community empowerment.
Dr. Emmanuel Obiri Addo, Executive Director of Me Boafo Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the collaborative effort. “Our goal is to ensure everyone has access to essential health screenings and the information they need to make informed decisions about their health,” he said. “Early detection saves lives, and we’re honored to work with dedicated healthcare and community organizations to bring this service to Asamankese.”
