Gifty Kodie, a resolute woman from Ghana, had to abandon her effort to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest baking marathon after thieves stole necessary supplies.

The Legon City Mall's planned December 23, 2024, bake-a-thon was canceled just hours before it was supposed to start. Gifty claims she was unable to carry out the record-breaking effort because robbers broke into the site and stole important equipment.

In an interview, Gifty expressed her disappointment at the sabotage, having actively marketed the event. She stated her intention to try again in the future and maintained her optimism in spite of the setback.
