Upcoming Ugandan singer Gloria Bugie, who many men would admire romantically, has opened up about the challenges she has faced in the music industry, including an encounter with a producer who refused to release her song despite being fully paid.
The Nyash hitmaker explained that a well-known producer withheld the song after she refused his advances.
“I paid a big producer 800,000 shillings. I paid him in full, but he refused to give me my song because I wouldn’t slëēp with him. There was nothing I could do after that,” she said in an interview with a local television station.
Gloria Bugie also advised young female artists to guard their bodies, warning that many men in the industry are only looking to exploit them.
