Promoting Inclusive & Quality Education
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Dr. Nana Guan Bay stated that Global Friends of Nature has been committed to supporting basic education in rural areas.
He emphasized that the government alone cannot fully develop the country, and such gestures are intended to complement government efforts.
Dr. Bay highlighted the importance of inclusive and quality education, noting that the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all,” which includes all schoolchildren in rural Ghana.
He expressed gratitude to his family, all members of Global Friends of Nature, including the Akan TV crew, and others who contributed to the donation.
He urged the authorities at Bonkorkor Basic School to take good care of the items.
The Headteacher, Kennedy Agyemang Duah, who received the items on behalf of the school, thanked Global Friends of Nature for their support.
He also requested continued assistance as the school works to establish long-term relationships with donors in the private sector.
Future Projects
Dr. Nana Guan Bay further disclosed that the organization plans to assist the school with infrastructure development in the future.
The planned project includes the construction of a 3-classroom block, a headteacher’s office, a staff room, and two stores, with an estimated cost of 250,000 Ghana Cedis.
