As Ghana prepares for the handover of power following the December 7, 2024, general elections, President-elect John Dramani Mahama's handover Team has raised serious concerns about the outgoing administration's recent activities. The team claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has been conducting last-minute recruitments, promotions, transfers, and financial transactions without prior clearance from the Joint Transition Team.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, stated that such acts contravene the rules agreed upon during the second joint Transition Team meeting on December 13, 2024. He stated that any improper activity, such as backdated appointments and payments, would be reversed once the new administration took office.

The Transition Team has warned public officials against succumbing to pressure from exiting political actors to engage in these activities, warning of dire implications under the new administration.

This development emphasizes the necessity of following established protocols throughout the transition period to guarantee a seamless and transparent transfer of power. The Mahama Transition Team's determination to reverse improper activities demonstrates a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the governance process.
