Ernest Owusu Bempah, the deputy national communications officer for the NPP and head of corporate communication for Ghana Gas, has disclosed that he fabricated the Airbus tale in order to deflect criticism of the economy.
Ernest Owusu Bempah claims that during the NPP's 2024 election campaign, he was ignored.
He pointed out that the NPP members believed they could win the 2024 elections by joking around with Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC communication officer.
“Someone like me, I get up in the morning, adopt a strategy to save a whole political party from a whole mess, when the economy is bashing the whole government, I am saying this on records, the economy Ghanaians were saying they were hungry, and no one was listening to what we were saying,” Ernest Owusu Bempah explained in an interview with Vim Lady's.
"Strategically, I was in my room when I went to bring the Airbus Scandal, and I am just trying to tell you that strategy is very key, and then the whole NDC machinery is after me," he continued. "Is there only one person you think, and why do you think they are always thinking about me? As a political party, you need to be strategic," the NPP man continued. "If you say that campaign elections are about teasing Sammy Gyamfi on TV and radio will win you an election, you will be making a grave error."
Ernest Owusu Bempah, meanwhile, stated in a different interview that Ghanaians will regret choosing the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Ernest Owusu Bempah claims that under John Dramani Mahama, there will be severe economic hardship and dumsor. Additionally, he claimed that it is inevitable that John Mahama will irritate Ghanaians.
The OSP concluded its investigation into the Airbus bribery scandal in August 2024, stating that there was no proof that John Mahama, who was known as "Government Official 1," had accepted any bribes.
