Ghana's first female vice president, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has an impressive family—all three of her children have doctorates.

Her daughter, Dr. Adwoa Opoku-Agyemang, and sons, Drs. Kwabena and Kweku Opoku-Agyemang, are both successful academics and professionals in their disciplines.

In addition to the accomplishments of the family, Dr. Kwabena's wife, Dr. Ama Opoku-Agyemang, is a renowned scholar.

After creating political history, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana's first female vice president, has been the subject of much discussion regarding her family, particularly her daughters, all of whom hold doctorates.

At the University of Cape Coast (UCC), where she was the first female vice-chancellor and the first female VC in Ghana, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang created history alongside her husband, an English professor.

Two of Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang's three children are boys, and one is a girl. Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Agyemang, Dr. Adwoa Opoku-Agyemang, and Dr. Kweku Opoku-Agyemang are her first sons.

One of the quiz mistresses of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Dr. Ama Opoku-Agyemang, is married to Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Agyemang.

Kwabena posted a picture of the four of them along with a list of their chalked accomplishments on X.

For example, his older brother completed a six-year PhD program at the University of Wisconsin in two and a half years. He is the creator of a company that provides consulting services to governments in the UK, Canada, and Pakistan.

Kwabena, meanwhile, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana and the Academic Director of the School for International Training Ghana. He holds a PhD, two master's degrees, and a bachelor's degree in English.

Adwoa Opoku-Agyemang, the final child, is the director of Ashesi University's writing program. As the first author and publisher of an African humor book, she created history. She received degrees from the University of Toronto, Legon, UCC, and the Sorbonne. She held postdoctoral degrees from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Michigan.

Kwabena's spouse holds a PhD as well. Cambridge University awarded Ama Opoku-Agyemang her PhD. She was the top student in the Faculty of Science at KNUST when she graduated.
