Ghanaians will work with Mahama to make transparent decisions about the future of the cathedral.

The administration of John Dramani Mahama will consult with church leaders and Ghanaians to decide the National Cathedral's destiny. In an interview with TV3, former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu revealed this, highlighting Mahama's dedication to inclusivity and accountability.

Haruna clarified that Mahama will finance the project independently of public funds. Rather, a value-for-money audit and discussions will be used to make the conclusion. "Mahama will consult with the church and determine the best course of action without squandering public funds if the nation really needs a cathedral," he stated.

Since Nana Akufo-Addo took office, the National Cathedral project has been enmeshed in controversy. The lack of transparency was attacked by Haruna, who noted that $38 million had been spent with little result. "What exactly has been done with this amount?" he asked, raising doubts about the prudent use of resources.

According to a report, Haruna also gave Ghanaians the assurance that no important projects left by the previous administration will be abandoned by Mahama's administration. With an emphasis on effectiveness and accountability, hospitals, schools, and other crucial initiatives will be given top priority.

The goal of Mahama's administration is to restore public confidence and complete initiatives that genuinely benefit the country by enlisting stakeholders and maintaining transparency.
