Kwadwo Mumuni, a felon accused with one count of defilement, pled guilty.
Prosecuting Detective Sergeant Dominic Appiah Kusi told the court, presided over by Mrs Hathia Ama Manu, that the complainant, a 29-year-old woman, is the victim's mother, who has stopped attending school.
He claimed Kwadwo Mumuni had no regular residence but was frequently spotted around the Tarkwa Railway Station.
According to the Prosecution, on November 9, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., the complainant instructed the victim to go to the Tarkwa Railway Station and buy her charcoal.
The victim was discovered loitering near the Tarkwa Railway station after collecting money to buy charcoal and failing to return home.
According to Detective Sergeant Kusi, the complainant spent hours searching for the victim but was unable to locate him. She then returned to her house.
On November 10, at 1:30 a.m., a witness noticed Kwadwo Mumuni having anal intercourse with the victim as he was asleep in the corridor of a Storey building at the Tarkwa Railway station.
According to the prosecution, Kwadwo Mumuni fled when he saw the witness approaching, but was eventually apprehended and arrested.
The witness then called the complainant and informed her of what had occurred to her kid, and she immediately went to the Railway police station, where she was handed a police medical form to seek care for the victim.
According to Detective Sergeant Kusi, the complainant returned the paperwork, which was endorsed by a medical officer at Apinto Government Hospital in Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.
