The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has renewed its strong support for President-elect John Dramani Mahama as he prepares for his new role.

During a visit to Mahama, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, President of the GPCC, expressed complete trust in Mahama's leadership skills and expertise. He asked the President-elect to seize the chance to serve the nation with honesty and integrity, ensuring that his policies benefit all residents.

Apostle Nyamekye emphasized the importance of leadership that has a real influence on the nation, expressing hope that Mahama's tenure will be focused on improving the lives of Ghanaians. He also promised Mahama that the GPCC will stay strong in its support, offering prayers and aid as needed. "We are here to assure you that the GPCC will continue to pray for you, and we will always make ourselves available to support your presidency," Nyamekye told the crowd. He reiterated the Council's commitment to working with the president and stated that they would be accessible for discussions whenever invited, with the ultimate goal of assuring Ghana's progress.

In response, President-elect Mahama thanked the GPCC for its support and informed the Council that, while certain decisions he would make during his term may be difficult, they would be done with the nation's best interests in mind. He stated that, despite the strong mandate he got, his administration would continue to seek consensus on crucial topics, underlining the importance of decisive decisions to advance necessary reforms. "Some decisions might be unpleasant, but they will be in the national interest, like taking bitter medicine for healing," he told me.
