The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem, Kofi Adams, has cautioned his party against complacency in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking to members of the NDC in New Jersey, USA, Kofi Adams said that the party must be very wary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) because they are willing to do anything to stay in power.

He described the NPP as a party full of liars who would try to use lies and deceptions to trick the people of Ghana into voting for them.

The MP, who is a former National Organiser of the NDC, said that the flagbearer of the NPP, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is going around the country making all sorts of promises to Ghanaians as if there is no tomorrow.

"The election is not going to be an easy one because you are dealing with a group of persons who know how to lie, who have practised lying, perfected lying, and want everybody to believe their lies.

"We also have a party that has a flagbearer who knows no shame. He is running a campaign that we call promise-as-you-go. So, for him, he is just making promises as he goes without even looking back to what it is that he has done in the past," he said.

He added, "As far as the NPP is concerned, anything works. That is why we must not sleep; that is why we must continue to engage."

The Buem legislator commended the NDC members in New Jersey for their contribution to the party and the progress they have made.
