A 65-year-old Tamale-based businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Ayaana, has embarked on a remarkable journey, walking approximately 250-kilometer from Tamale to Accra.

His mission is to arrive in Accra by January 7, 2025, to witness the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect John Dramani Mahama.

This information was shared by Edhub on X on January 4, 2025, stating, "The 65-year-old, who initially traveled to Kumasi by vehicle, began his trek on foot to honor President-elect John Mahama for his decisive victory in the 2024 presidential election."

This isn’t Alhaji Ayaana's first symbolic journey. In 1997, he walked to commemorate former President Jerry John Rawlings' second-term swearing-in.

In 1999, the businessman also organised a 16-kilometer peace and health walk in Tamale on Independence Day, promoting national unity and health.

He announced his latest initiative on December 21, 2024, after completing a 19-kilometer health walk from Yakubu Tali International Airport in Tamale to Jubilee Park in Tamale.
