The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Aseidu Nketia, says the Deputy CID boss and other persons involved in the leaked tape saga would have resigned if Ghana were a law abiding country.

Controversial musician, A Plus in a recent Facebook post, described the two gentlemen, Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye as “stupid corrupt thieves”. The matter was referred to the police for further investigation following widespread condemnation.

However, on Wednesday, an audio conversation between A Plus and a senior CID official identified to be the Deputy Director General of the CID, ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah which indicated that the investigative report was cooked went viral on social media.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nketia explained that dishonesty is killing Ghana than corruption. According to him, the CID boss together with his deputy as well as the two deputy chiefs of staff should resign for fresh investigations to be conducted.

Reacting to the issue, the acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu accused Johnson Aseidu Nketia for taking political stands and tasked state institutions to conduct the investigations in a manner that will instill confidence in Ghanaians. He asked the general public to desist from politicalizing general issues.

Meanwhile, one of the deputy Chiefs of Staff at the Flagstaff House Samuel Abu Jinapor in an interview mentioned that he has no plans of suing controversial musician, Kwame A Plus over the corruption claims leveled against him.
