Reports reaching 'Daily Guide' indicates that Kobina Ade Coker, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has finally released the Kia Rhino truck he impounded a few days ago.
The driver, Eric Danquah, 48, confirmed the release of the truck and added that the NDC capo had said he was “giving everything to God.”
He said Mr. Ade Coker did not collect the GH¢2,000 he had threatened to take as the cost for the maintenance of his (chairman’s) black Toyota Thundra that was involved in a minor accident with the truck.
“In fact, I did not meet him personally in the house. He had given the car keys to a lady in the house who told me he said he was giving everything to God,” the driver said on Thursday.
Mr. Danquah said he subsequently sent the car to the Airport police who then asked him to contact the DVLA for a test to be conducted on it before driving back to Aburi where he lives.
Last Saturday, September 27, Mr. Ade Coker impounded a truck loaded with musical instruments and parked it at his residence following an accident at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange in Accra.
The Kia Rhino, with registration number ER 1314 -14, was said to have had contact with the NDC capo’s black Toyota Thundra, but instead of reporting the matter to the police, Ade Coker decided to seize the truck.

When reached later on telephone, Mr. Ade Coker confirmed that he was keeping the truck in his house and said, “The guy nearly killed me on the motorway.”
Asked why he did not invite the police to the scene to conduct investigation as the law required, he said, “I was going to call the police and he begged me not to do so…I should have reported to the police when he was begging me? A police car was even passing by but he was begging me so I let it pass.”
He continued, “We mutually agreed that he should park his truck in my house and when I fix mine he will pay for the damage. He gave me a photocopy of his licence and I told him to come and park here because I don’t know where to find him when he runs away.”
