As the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) readies for its congress in Tamale this Saturday, to elect national executives to lead the party, there are strong signals of power play between former president John Agyekum Kufuor and the twice-defeated Presidential Candidate of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The Enquirer has stumbled on a document circulating among members of the NPP on the candidates the former President wants see as becoming the next national executive of the party.

The Enquirer cannot confirm the authenticity of the document that is virtually gaining currency among the NPP members.

In the document, the ex-president would like to see Mr. Paul Afoko becoming the Chairman of the NPP, while Kwabena Agyei Agyepong takes over as the General Secretary.

Ex-President Kufuor, according to the document, would like Otiko Afisah Djaba to be retained as the women organizer of the party.

The former President, who has been silent on happenings within the NPP, would like to have either Mr. John Boadu or Moctar Bamba becoming the organizer of the party.

In the document, it has been stated clearly that the former President was interested in all the positions, and the topmost priority is that of the Chairmanship and the General Secretary.

It has been stated in the document that a henchman of the former President, who was powerful in his administration, has vowed to pump more cash into the hands of their favorite contestants.

In the same document, it has been stated that one of the contestants with code name SN3 should be monitored very well as he is likely to pull a surprise.

Another contestant with the code name YB was said to have betrayed the Kufuor faction by not stepping done for the Ex-president buddy, whose name was not mentioned in the document.

The Enquirer had earlier published a document on how some of the contestants wanted to win certain positions for their own parochial interests.

It is highly suspected that the interest in who leads the party has a direct bearing on who becomes the flagbearer.

Already, Mr. Kwadwo Okyere-Mpiani has warned Nana Akufo-Addo of repercussions if he throws his weight behind any of the contestants.

It is not secret that Nana Addo has his favorite contestants because of the fact that he would be comfortable working with some of them.
