Unserious, comical, puppet of the NDC, these are just a few of the descriptions some electorates have given to the flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor. Social media has been buzzing with news of her choice of running mate.
She has settled on 32-year-old farmer, Patricia Amoah as her vice presidential candidate – both unlettered.
Renowned legal practitioners, including Ace Ankomah, have questioned her choice, arguing that Mrs. Amoah does not meet the age limit of 40 years as required by the constitution. But she has issued a strong rebuttal to her critics in an interview 3FM’s Kareen Dodoo.
“It’s a party for women, farmers and the uneducated. I’m representing a vulnerable group in Ghana.
All those who pass negative comments about me are devils. I have been ordained by God and therefore very special to him. So all those against me, are against God.
“It’s only devils who do not want good things for this nation. They are also jealous because I have founded a political party, something not everyone can do. “I will never be discouraged by any negative comments from Ghanaians,” she said in twi.
She concluded that she did not choose a male running mate because males have failed the country.
