Akufo-Addo with new NPP Executives
Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged the newly elected National Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by John Boadu, to unite the party’s rank and file behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Akufo-Addo made the call when Mr Boadu and his team paid a courtesy call on him at his private office.
During the meeting, the former president stressed the need for unity and cohesion within the party, tasking the new leadership to close ranks and rally members and supporters behind Dr Bawumia as the NPP prepares for the next general election.
The newly elected executives were sworn into office following the party’s National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The new leadership is headed by John Boadu as National Chairman, with Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, elected First Vice Chairman; Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, Second Vice Chairman; and Nana Akomea, Third Vice Chairman.
Other members of the team are Justin Frimpong Kodua, who retained his position as General Secretary; Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, National Organiser; Alfred Kojo Thompson, National Treasurer; Mavis Hawa Koomson, National Women’s Organiser; and Abanga Fuseini Yakubu, National Youth Organiser.
The team also includes Mohammed Ali Suraj, National Nasara Organiser, and Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye, National Communications Director.
The executives are expected to lead the NPP’s organisational and political activities over the next four years as the party works towards the 2028 general elections.
Akufo-Addo’s appeal for unity places the responsibility on the new leadership to bring the party’s various factions together and build a common front behind its flagbearer ahead of the next electoral contest.
