Founder and leader of Glorious Word International Ministry, Rev. Owusu Bempah has said former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur knew of his prophecy concerning his death and would have been saved if the late vice president had taken time off to meet with him.

According to the “controversial” prophet, the late former Vice President sent some people to him at his church days after he gave the prophecy on the 31st of December last year.

After twice meeting with the representatives of the late vice president and going ahead to give them his mobile number, no contact was made again, Rev. Owusu Bempah said.

“Some people came to see me that they have been sent by the former vice president. According to them, he had heard the prophecy and knew he was the one. They were therefore coming for an official confirmation. They then told me, the vice resident was out of the country and will come see me immediately he gets back.

They also promised to tell him I had confirmed he was the one. I told them to tell him to come see me immediately he gets back because it was not a joke. I never heard from them till after two weeks, when they came to see me again after church. They told me the former vice president was back, and asked when I will be free to meet him and where. I asked to rather be given the details since he is more prominent than me. I even gave them my number. There were three of them. Although I was expecting to hear from them, I never did.”

We need people to understand how the prophetic works. There are some prophecies that you can intercede on behalf of the person and some that you need a representative as a point of contact and there are even others that you need the person it concerns to be present.

I even had a similar death prophecy about former president John Dramani Mahama. He has some of his followers worshiping with us, so they came together and we prayed and interceded on his behalf. So when we heard about his plane crash and how nothing happened to him, we gave glory to God. With Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, if I had met him, this wouldn’t have happened. Even talking about this gets me emotional, although I am not God I know this death could have been avoided,” he said.

Since the death of Vice president Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur in the early hours of Friday, June 29, 2018, at the gym an audio purported to be of Rev. Owusu Bempah prophesying of his death has gone viral on social media. While many Ghanaians have cautioned Men of God to desist from taking advantage of the news to gain popularity, others are of the view that these pastors who will claim to have foreseen the death, be questioned to help bring clarity to this “unexplained” death.

But speaking to Kofi Adoma Nwanwani on Kofi TV, Mr. Bempah said he could not do anything about the prophecy because the vice president refused to take it serious.

The man of God who is also known for his constant death prophecies including a prophecy about the late president of the land, John Evans Atta-Mills said it was untrue that he is a prophet of doom. According to him, he has given some positive prophecies and done great things in the house of God. He explained that, he did not have any power of his own and every miracle or prophecies attributed to him is from God hence making him powerless to pick and choose what to do or say.

“Usually we do not know what God will say about someone. So sometimes we write down what God tells us so we don’t forget. The vice president was not suppose to joke with the prophecy, he just had to go to a pastor, pray to God and have it reversed. He had between January and October to do that.

I know people will ask why I only prophecy about death. I also see good things happen to people. We give good prophecies too. What people/Ghanaians must know is that both good and bad prophecies will come true, so they have to pray about it. But if I see that someone is going to die in six months and I also see that the person will have a break though in a year’s time, which one should I tell the person? Why not deal with the death which is closer so he can live longer to enjoy his breakthrough. I don’t have any power, all I do is by the Grace of God.” He added

Since his death, tributes have been pouring in from all over for country for the late vice president with President Akufo-Addo and his vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia describing the late Paa Kwesi Amissah-Athur who was also an economist as a fine gentleman and a great state man.

Other personalities including his former boss, former president John Dramani Mahama and former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Jerry John Rawlings have also sent their heartfelt condolences to his wife Matilda Amissah-Athur, his children and his family.
