Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Barbara Serwaa Asamoah has expressed fears a New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will witch-hunt key NDC officials if it regains power in the December 7 elections.

She has, therefore, called for a massive vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to retain power.

Ms Asamoah was speaking at a mini-rally at Gomoa Afransi in the Gomoa Central Constituency on Friday, November 25 as part of Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur’s campaign tour.

Speaking in Twi, she said after eight years of government, the NPP really achieved nothing.

“[NPP] brought no development and just like a sister of mine said, they put us in prisons.

‘Will we allow them to put us in prison again?” she asked, triggering a loud roar from the crowd.

“So let us be careful,” she advised.

She said, “if any member of the NPP asks you to check your pockets before voting, they are referring to their pockets”.

Because their pockets are empty, she explained, they will come and fill them with public monies.

Ms Asamoah’s comments about NPP witch-hunting NDC officials comes after former Minister of Transport, Dzifa Attivor, in April, this year, expressed similar fears.
