The General Overseer of Parliament Chapel International, Apostle Francis Amoako-Atta, has criticized his fellow man of God over his recent comments regarding the accident caused by his son, which resulted in the deaths of two female teenagers.

A few days ago, the man of God, in a viral video, was seen nearly in tears as he knelt to beg the bereaved families for forgiveness following the deaths of the young girls. His actions garnered some public sympathy.

However, while speaking in his church on Sunday, October 20, 2024, Archbishop Amoako, addressing the tragic accident involving his 16-year-old son, Elrad Salifu Amoako, which claimed the lives of two young girls in East Legon on October 12, 2024, emphasized that the incident was an accident, not an intentional act.

"It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to kill somebody. He was involved in a terrible accident," Bishop Amoako clarified, attributing the widespread attention to his own popularity.

He urged his church members to remain calm and avoid speculating about the incident, which is still under investigation.

However, the bishop’s comments have been criticized by sections of the public, describing them as insensitive to the families of the victims.

Commenting on the issue on Kasapa FM, as monitored by GhanaWeb, Apostle Amoako Atta condemned his fellow preacher, saying his comments were in bad taste.

"I was so disappointed in Prophet Salifu Amoako when I heard him speak in his church on Sunday because I led prayers for him in my church. I thought he had come out publicly and asked for forgiveness from the bereaved families. Why then does he go to his church and say something else? If you do that, you act like a hypocrite. He didn’t do well. Man of God, you did not do well. I am so disappointed in you.

"You must wish well for other people’s families. If my child is rebellious, I would rather wish for my child to die so that another person could succeed, because my child has been disobedient. Someone's child is also a human being. May God forgive him, and may the Almighty Lord continue to strengthen the families in this difficult time," Apostle Amoako-Atta stated.

The fatal accident occurred when Elrad Salifu Amoako lost control of a Jaguar SUV and collided with a 4x4 Acura vehicle, resulting in a catastrophic fire that claimed the lives of two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh.

Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested and charged with "allowing an unlicensed person to drive a vehicle" following the incident.
