COP Frank Adu-Poku, Director General Technical of the Ghana Police Service, has warned police women in the Brong Ahafo Region to stop wearing tight-skinned trousers in course of discharging their duties.
COP Adu-Poku noted that was about time police women in the region set good examples for others to emulate through their dressing.
He made the observation during the official tour of the IGP, Mohammed Alhassan, to the Brong Ahafo Region after assuming office.
“I have observed that the dressing of some of the policewomen in the region is not the best. The trousers of some of the police women are too tight which is revealing. This must stop because you are not going out for a beauty pageant. The Motor Traffic and Transport Unit must also dress well so that they will be visible on the roads,” COP Adu-Poku urged.
The IGP, Mohammed Alhassan, addressing 401 contingents and 40 officers at the Jubilee Park in Sunyani, called on the personnel of the Ghana Police to be professionals in the discharge of their duties.
He also urged the personnel not be complacent but work harder to maintain peace and security in the Brong Ahafo Region.
He also reminded the officers that it was the core mandate of the Police to protect lives and properties and so they must remain neutral and unbiased in the performance of their duties.
On party politics, he cautioned personnel who meddled in partisan politics to be very careful because the police administration would not tolerate such habits.
The IGP, Mohammed Alhassan, noted that several measures have been put in place to reform the police service to discharge their constitutional obligation.
“As we all know it is only training the makes a man perfect, we shouldn’t be complacent. This is our calling. Ours is one of law enforcement and maintenance of order. Let us get committed to our duties and strive for the best,” IGP Alhassan appealed.
