The management of RLG Communications Limited would soon be dragged to Parliament to face the Public Accounts Committee over 12,733 pieces of Better Ghana Laptops that have not been delivered.

The communications firm was contracted by the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation to produce and distribute 103,181 pieces of laptops at a total cost of GH?51,257,500.00.

However, the company, according to the report of the Auditor-General on the public accounts of Ghana on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the year ended December 31, 2015, was able to produce and distribute 90,448 pieces of the said laptops, leaving a balance of 12,733 pieces worth GH?6,366,875.00.

This was discovered at the time of the audit with the Auditor-General, Richard Q. Quartey, recommending to management of the Ministry to ensure that RLG supplies the remaining 12,733 pieces of laptops or have the balance refunded without further delay.

It is however, not clear whether the communications firm has over the two years supplied the remaining pieces of laptops or refunded the balance amount to the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.

A clear understanding of the scenario will therefore be made when management of RLG Communications Limited appears before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament to respond to this query raised by the Auditor-General in his report.
