Accra, May 4, GNA - Mr Andrews Awuni, a former Deputy Information Minister, is now the new Press Secretary to President John Agyekum Kufuor.
He takes over from Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, who resigned his position on Thursday, April 27 2006.
Mr Kwadwo Mpiani, Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs, officially introduced Mr Awuni to journalists attending the routine Castle press briefing on Thursday.
He said it was his hope that the Press Secretary would enjoy the co-operation and have good working relations with the Media.
Mr Awuni, a trained journalist, drew attention to the need for journalists to approach their work with a sense of nationalism and objectivity.
Before entering politics, Mr Awuni worked with the Ghana News Agency and the National Investment Bank.
