The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for a smooth process in the ongoing voting exercise.
Dr Bawumia, his wife and other family members on Wednesday morning all voted at the Kperiga Junior High School (JHS) polling station B in the Walewale Constituency of the Northern region and disclosed that he is impressed with the processes.
“There has been an improvement in terms of the processes compared what we saw in 2012. The electoral reforms are indeed working and there are no longer queues at the polling stations”, he said.
He expressed hope that what is currently pertaining at the various polling stations will remain same till the close of polls indicating that voters have also conducted themselves so far.
“Peace is a prerequisite for development and I will urge all of you to remain peaceful and cast your votes in a very peaceful atmosphere without provocations and violence”, he added.
