The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has disowned the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the defunct Ponzi Scheme, DKM, Martin Dele, denying that he is a member of the party.

As part of the NPP flagbearer's visit to the Upper West Region, where he is interacting with some chiefs and people of the area, Mr. Martin Dele was spotted at the Palace of the Chief of Nandom, Naa Prof. Edmund Delle Chiir VIII.

It emerged that he acted on behalf of the revered Chief and made a presentation to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his delegation, which was captured by the media.

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team and the Deputy Spokesperson of the Running Mate’s Campaign, Eric Adjei, subsequently took on the NPP, claiming Martin Dele was a lead campaigner for the NPP flagbearer.

He wrote, “This guy, Martin Dele, who is a core campaign team member of Bawumia, was the founder of DKM Financial Services and defrauded many citizens in the Bono Region in 2016. The NPP told lies to the people of Ghana, claiming that the company was owned by the former first lady at the time. Today, that fraudster is a key member of Bawumia’s campaign. All I can say is let us be careful with the scammers parading themselves as sound politicians.”

In a sharp rebuttal, a member of Bawumia’s campaign team, Krobea Kwabena Asante, said, “ERIC ADJEI, get this straight, your lies won’t change the fact that the DKM hoax happened under your watch and you sat there aloof without saving customers’ deposits as a regime.

"Now to expose your lies. MARTIN DELE is not a member of NPP and is also not part of our campaign team. Yesterday, Dr. Bawumia visited Naa Prof. Edmund Delle Chiir VIII, Paramount Chief of Nandom, and Martin, a royal and nephew of the Overlord, was at the Palace and presented a gift to the boss from his uncle who was on the skin.

"Today you call Martin, who is an NDC guy, a thief? After all he did for you, ERIC, in Bono Region? Is that how politics has changed you, my brother, ERIC? You don’t know him again? Wow.”
