Three people have reportedly been stabbed to death at Agbogbloshie in Accra during a fight between Konkombas and Dagombas.

Unconfirmed reports say the fight started Tuesday when a Konkomba allegedly stole a gas cylinder belonging a Dagomba but other reports suggest it was a mobile phone which was stolen.

Several others have been injured in the latest clash between the two northern ethnic groups in the area.

Activities at the area have come to a halt as a joint police and military team have taken over the place which is a popular slum in Accra. The security team has taken over the entrance to the place.

“Agbogbloshie is now uncomfortable for the dwellers,” TV3’s Stanley Blewu reported from the scene of the incident. “Theyhave killed three kokombas. The kokombas are promising war tonight,” our correspondent reported.

An eyewitness, Nana Yaw, told Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene that all the three people were stabbed.

He said an argument ensued between the Kokombas and the Dagombas in the midst of the accusation and degenerated into a fight. According to the witness, the three were stabbed in a bizarre way.

Police have since been called in to the scene to ensure law and order.
