President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the government and people of Ghana over the recent fire and flood disasters that killed many of its citizens.
Buhari, in a condolence message yesterday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu, said Nigeria would stand by Ghana in its moment of grief and loss.
“In this moment of grief and loss, the government and people of Nigeria stand with the government and people of Ghana,” Buhari said.
The president described the two incidents as painful and regrettable. He, however, noted that the flood reminded West African leaders and governments of their responsibilities to the problem of global warming, among others.
Buhari prayed that the souls of the victims rest in eternal bliss and that their families and friends find fortitude to bear the losses.
