Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia, believes that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia must first debate his records as Vice President before he calls for a debate with John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, the Vice President and his government have been abysmal since they came to power and therefore do not deserve to call on the opposition leader for a debate.

“What is he coming to debate? Look at the sham of an economy they are running. They have run Ghana aground. He will just come and say he arrested the cedi and gave it to the former IGP Asante Appeatu, so he can’t find it.

He should go into his records and debate all the issues in there. I’m sure he will not even finish with the issues before the elections. He should prepare his marking scheme for the 170 questions he asked us and let us know whether he has been able to provide answers to them in the eight years he has been in power."

He added that the Vice President should also practice how to speak the truth.

“After the Vice President is done with debating his records and providing evidence to the effect that he has answered the 170 questions he asked the former Vice President, he should also practice how to be truthful,” he said.
