Nana Ama Agyemang Asante, CitiFM staff and a regular contributor to one of the radio stations award winning Breakfast Show, tweeted on CitiFM's Twitter profile that the City of Kumasi is a "lawless place".
A tweet that doesn't seem to have gone down so nicely with Kumasians.
Based off of the responses to the journalist's comments on social media, it seems as though both fans and residents of the Garden City had a few things to say to the CitiFM radio personality.
Nana Ama's comments were related to Thursday's storming of a Kumasi circuit court by members of the Delta Force, who subsequently freed 13 fellow group members who appeared before court following their assault on the Ashant Regional Security Coordinator, Mr. George Agyei.
Some social media users were quick to point out that her conclusion shouldn't be based on isolated incidents connected to the Delta Force attacks.
Most responses asked the journalist how she arrived to her conclusion, while others wondered if the radio personality has even been to the Garden City.
A bold and inaccurate statement...
Kumasi is a lawless place, there are places you can't be at certain times of the day - @JustNanaAma #CitiCBS

You are generalizing and calling Kumasi a lawless city because of one isolated incident by a group of thugs. How is she still on radio?

How is Kumasi a lawless city again? People just wake up and make silly assumptions over a misconstrued scenario everyday, smh.

Let me repeat then, Kumasi is a lawless city. This much I know. https://t.co/99thzlquSb

In what seems like her final say in the matter, Nana Ama seems to have decided not to contribute to this particular discussion any longer, even though her opinion seems to have remained unchanged.
Folks going on as though they love Kumasi more I do. We shouldn't discuss the thuggery that within the city because bad image. Yoo.
