The hairdresser confronting an Assembly revenue taskforce member
A hairdresser at Adentan in the Greater Accra Region confronted a Municipal Assembly's revenue taskforce after officials arrived at her shop to lock it up over unpaid taxes.
In a video circulating on social media on November 7, 2026, the woman who was angered by their presence questioned why they had come to demand payment, insisting that she knew her rights and would decide when to pay.
In a heated exchange, she challenged the officials, saying she would not be forced to pay the tax.

"Which tax are you collecting? I will not pay. You are not the one to ask me to pay tax. This is my own shop. How dare you? I have been to school; I know my rights. If I want to pay tax, I will come there.
"Spoil something, and you will pay. You said my shop is not nice, and you are coming for my money. Come and lock it," she stated.
The officials, however, said she had been served with an earlier notice to settle her outstanding tax but had failed to do so.
