The National Chairmanship race of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is thickening as former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Lawyer Betty Mould-Iddrisu has been confirmed as having to lace her boots to contest for the revered position.

The decision to throw her hat into the ring follows persistent calls and mounting pressure from some serving Members of Parliament (MPs), Constituency Executives and a committee of ex-ministers, a close source disclosed to mynewsgh.com

Impeccable information available to mynewsgh.com also has it that a committee has been put in place by the interested parties, headed by some two former executives to interact with various party caucuses, all in an effort to see Madam Betty Mould steer the Affairs of the party towards the NDC’S agenda 2020.

Meanwhile the NDC is said to have scheduled its national congress to take place in the Volta region in 2018.

Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu currently occupies the 1st national vice chair of the NDC. As a pioneering member of the NDC especially in the Ashanti Region, Madam Betty Mould served as the Attorney General of the Republic of Ghana under the Mills – Mahama led NDC government, the first woman to serve in that capacity in the country.

Prior to that, she had been the Head of Legal and Constitutional Affairs of the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.

Other names picked up by this source for the top position include the General Secretary of the party Asiedu Nketia, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, Prof. Kwesi Botchwey among others.
