The Paramount Chief of Nandom, Naa Professor Nyminyem Delle V, has vouched for the incorruptibility of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at a durbar in Nandom, where John Mahama paid him a courtesy call, Naa Professor Nyminyem Delle V, a renowned dermatologist, expressed confidence that the former president will vigorously fight corruption if elected in the December 7 presidential election.
In a video shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the paramount chief highlighted the vast experience John Mahama has gathered over the years, which makes him qualified and competent to occupy the highest office in the land.
"So, Mr. Incoming President, don't forget Nandom. Do all you can to make Nandom your home. We shall welcome you anytime you come here. We shall give you the necessary support you need to become an exceptional Head of State. You have experience; you are not the driver's mate—you are the driver yourself. And experience is more valuable than anything. You have been through it; you are not a novice. So, we pray that God grants you the wisdom of Solomon so that Ghana will be a united country, and Ghana will not be a country constantly asking for loans. The corruption that is killing us, I know in your government, that will not happen."
Ghanaians will vote on December 7 to elect a new president and 275 parliamentarians to govern the country for the next four years.
Political analysts say the contest is largely a two-horse race between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), despite the inclusion of two popular independent candidates—Alan Kyerematen and Nana Kwame Bediako.
