Cyborg has been fined GH¢24,000 by Adenta District Court
The Adenta District Court has fined Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as Cyborg, GH¢24,000 after he pleaded guilty to possession and unlawful discharge of a firearm at the AfroFuture Festival held at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
Sadick was captured in a viral video firing a gun in public during the festival on December 28, 2025, sparking widespread public concern.
He was charged under Ghana’s Firearms Act and the Public Order Act.

Upon his guilty plea, the court imposed a fine of 2,000 penalty units, equivalent to GH¢24,000, with a default sentence of up to two years’ imprisonment if he fails to pay.
The court also ordered that the gun, a DERYA MK-12 with the number 22-GHA 1162, should be confiscated by the state and his firearm licence revoked.
In a viral video shared on X on December 31, 2025, Cyborg expressed remorse and promised to reform.
“Thank you, my loved ones, thank you my enemies, thank you everyone. It will never happen again,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Cyber Vetting Team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, in a press release dated December 30, 2025, confirmed Sadick’s arrest.
“The suspect, identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as ‘Cyborg,’ was arrested on December 29, 2025, at Adenta for possession and discharging of a firearm,” the statement said.
The police have reiterated their commitment to enforcing public safety laws, particularly at large public events, and warned that individuals who flout firearm regulations will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
