Dagbon and Ghana will never forget what you’ve done – Farouk Mahama to Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, others

Farouk Aliu Mahama, a respected indigene of Dagbang with eyes on the Yendi parliamentary seat who is also a top Manager of COCOBOD has commended President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Bawumia for their respective roles that has culminated in the peaceful selection of a new Ya-Naa, Yo-Naa Abubakari Mahama II.

In a statement copied to MyNewsGh.com, the son of former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama of blessed memory also commended the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, leader of the Eminent Chiefs who worked with all sides to ensure strict fidelity to the final steps of the road map to peace.

Mr Mahama also noted that without the refined conduct and patience of the Bolin Lana Mahamudu Abdulai and Kampakuya Naa Yakubu Andani, this finality would never have been possible.

Farouk Aliu Mahama vowed that as “an unrepentant son of Yendi, I guarantee my emphatic fidelity and loyalty to project Dagbon and I assure the Overlord of Dagbon of my ready availability to support any process that will drive Dagbamba into our pride of place.”

He added: “My prayer is with Ya-Naa Abubakari Mahama II to competently steer Dagbon into an era that will herald rapid development, peace and harmony, fellow-loving and togetherness and to patch the severed pride of being called Dagbana.”

FAROUK ALIU MAHAMA CONGRATULATES NEW YA-NAA, YO-NAA ABUBAKARI MAHAMA II.

On the heels of the nomination of a new Ya-Naa, I send out my felicitations to Nyab Yo-Naa, the outgoing chief of Savelugu, Abubakari Mahama on the transfer of the custodial baton to him to occupy the namship(Ya-Naa) of Dagbon. It is a moment of rejoicefulness, thanksgiving and consolidation of our common future.

The peaceful resolution we have attained today would have been illusionary without the compromise, refined conduct and patience of Bolin-Lana Mahamadu Abdulai and Kampakuya-Naa Yakubu Andani. The royal families of Abudu and Andani are deserving of salutations for cooperation displayed throughout the phases of the road map implemented so far.

I highly applaud His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Committee of Eminent Chiefs led by Otumfuor Osei Tutu II for standing firm and the show of leadership never seen in a long while. This legacy of the President will go down in the annals as the Ghanain leader who restored normalcy in Dagbon when it was in a short-supply.
