The Kumasi Circuit Court Two has adjourned the case in which eight persons, said to be members of a group calling itself the Delta Force, and reported to be aligned with the governing New Patriotic Party, are standing trial for storming a court to free 13 of their colleagues from lawful custody.

The accused, Ebenezer Opoku, Samuel Yeboah, Kofi Fosu, Christian Anokye, Kwame Frimpong, Suleiman Wadud, Abass Caesar and Eric Kusi, have pleaded not guilty and are each on GH¢10,000 bail, with two sureties to be justified.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Asumadu Okyere-Darko informed the court when the case came up for hearing on Tuesday that the docket had been sent to the Attorney-General’s Department for advice and direction.

Mrs. Patricia Amponsah, the Presiding Judge, consequently adjourned it to May 17.

The eight had on their first appearance on April 10, been remanded in prison to be brought back to answer the charges against them on April 18.

They were, however, dissatisfied with the order, and through their lawyers applied to the Kumasi High Court Five for bail and this was granted.
