Glorious Word Power Ministries International founder, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah
Vida Adutwumwaa has raised a question regarding Rev. Owusu-Bempah's political affiliations, specifically asking if he has ever publicly declared allegiance to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or ever shown his party card.
Her comments come amidst backlashes against the prophet for switching from the NPP to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This criticism intensified after Owusu-Bempah publicly prayed for John Mahama, projecting him as the next chosen leader for the country.
In response, several NPP members, including Chairman Wontumi, have condemned the prophet for perceived disloyalty and betrayal.
During a discussion on UTV's United Showbiz, this topic was tabled for discussion, with panelist MC Yaa Yeboah asserting that Owusu-Bempah's affiliation with the NPP has been well known.
She questioned if Owusu-Bempah would’ve still prophesied Mahama's victory if he was with the NPP.
In her rebuttal, Vida Adutwumwaa expressed frustration over the narrative that Owusu-Bempah is exclusively linked to a particular political party.
“People keep saying that he once supported a certain political party, but did he ever formally declare his affiliation or show his party card?” she fumed.
She cited a previous instance where Owusu-Bempah prophesied the late John Evans Atta Mills's presidency while still associated with the NPP, questioning why he wasn't labelled an NDC prophet then.
“Before His Excellency late Evans Atta Mills Mills became president, the first time Owusu-Bempah prophesied about it was in Kumasi. Did we hear people say that he is an NDC member because he said Mills will become president?
“He has prophesied for both parties, so when you say that he originally belonged to the NPP, I don't agree. If you tell us that Owusu-Bempah originally belonged to the NPP but left because of how they treated him, then I don't agree with you,” she added.
