Dozens injured after bloody clashes in Kwabre

Several individuals are injured after some Zongo youth and residents of Ahwiaa in the Kwabre East district of the Ashanti region were involved in bloody clashes.

The fight occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 3 with the factions attacking each other with machetes, broken bottles and other weapons.

Reports indicate that the indigenes had prevented the Zongo youth from participating in a party the previous day leading to the brawl.

Police in the region resulted to firing of warning shots to calm the situation.

The injured persons have been taken to hospital for treatment and the law enforcement officers have arrested some individuals in connection to the attacks.
