Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, alias NAPO, the vice-presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has vouched for the credibility of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the party, as an incorruptible person.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh believes that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a distinguished public servant who is above reproach.

In a brief conversation with ace journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, when he presented a copy of his new book to him, NAPO noted that Dr. Bawumia has not misconducted himself in office and remains an example of what uprightness should be.

“The flagbearer I serve is not corrupt, he has never been corrupt, and he never will be,” Dr. Opoku Prempeh asserted.

NAPO also hinted that plans for publications are underway as he believes in sharing his experiences as energy and education minister.

He promised to read Manasseh’s book, review it, and make known his critique of the book to Manasseh.

“I love reading, and I will definitely go through the entire book and share my thoughts with you. I’m also working on a few books to tell my story as Education Minister and Energy Minister,” he added.

The book, christened ‘The President We Never Had,’ details the background story to major events in the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.

One jaw-dropping revelation from the book is that President Akufo-Addo learned of the appointment of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Bawumia’s running mate from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu.

According to Manasseh, President Akufo-Addo was blindsided by the choice, learning of it from the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, before it was officially communicated to him.

The book reveals that three weeks before Dr. Bawumia officially informed the President of his decision, the Asantehene had already mentioned it to Akufo-Addo, leaving the President shocked.
