Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has deplored the practice in African politics where people who worked for their parties to come to power always insist on being appointed into political office even if they lack the necessary skills.

“…There are people who want exaltation. That’s the problem with our politics in Africa. People work and help their political parties to come into office and when they come into office they want positions. ‘I must have this position’.

“They don’t ask themselves: ‘Have I developed capacity for the position? Do I have the experience or the knowledge? Can I handle it? Can I deliver? Can I help the President? Can I bring progress, transformation to my community or just because I helped my party I must use my ability to lobby and to manipulate the powers that be, so I can be exalted?”

The founder of the Christian Action Faith Ministries expressed the concerns when he preached in church Sunday October 12, 2014.

According to him, such manner of self-exaltation smacks of Luciferian behaviour.
